The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) introduces new Post Graduate (PG) programme leading to award of M.Tech in Defence Technology. The course would offer specializations in combat vehicle engineering, aerospace technology, communication systems and sensors, directed energy technology, naval technology and high energy materials technology.
The four-semester M.Tech in Defence Technology programme shall require students to complete 80 credits. In the first semester all students will study a common syllabus. While in second semester curriculum will be according to specialization selected. The third and fourth semesters include dissertation and industrial training.
The institutions affiliated with AICTE will soon introduce teaching of the M.Tech in Defence Technology curriculum.
The Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) have collaborated with the AICTE for conducting the regular M.Tech course in defence technologies having 6 specialised streams and B.Tech (elective courses).
The M.Tech in Defence Technology will prepare talented professionals to pursue career in research and development for defence and security to join the defence, PSUs and private defence industries.
